Storage Tips
Use a High-quality lock.
Store small, expensive items like stereos, TVs, etc.., in the back of the storage unit in unmarked boxes behind furniture.
Wrap glass and breakable items in bubble wrap and store with linens for extra protection.
To minimize damage, wrap electronics and furniture in linens before storing.
To minimize potential water damage, place boxes and/or furniture on wooden pallets in your storage unit.
Make a complete listing of all goods stored, including brand names, product features and serial numbers that are available. Keep the list in a safe place away from storage unit.
Keep proof of purchases documentation such as receipts. It is helpful to make a photo or a videotaped record of your stored goods. Keep this material in a safe place off site and away from the storage unit.
The new Chateau "X Type" Lock
If you're new at Trosper Self Storage, or are looking to replace your old lock, take a look at the new "X Type" lock from Chateau. It's heftier than the standard Chateau, has a keyhole cover to keep out moisture and a bending key for tight situations. It's only 12 bucks and available at the office.
Shelves for Rent
We've got a large shelf and two smaller shelves you to use in your unit. The big one (it's BIG) is $10/month and a small one is $2.50/month.
